Ubuntu ,a Linux-based operating system used to run servers and other infrastructure in many corporate IT departments, will be available on a full range of devices, including desktop and tablet computers, potentially providing corporate IT executives a way to reduce the number of devices they purchase and manage. The smartphones can be docked to larger displays, wirelessly connected to keyboards and other peripherals, and have Windows-based applications streamed to them from corporate servers. This would mean users could access all manner of corporate data through a single, pocket-sized device. One can share Windows apps to the phone desktop also.
The user interface of Ubuntu is very efficient for multitasking. It relies heavily on edge swipes and access to different Apps and Files can be easily done without closing the currently running Apps. Users can flow naturally from App to App using the Edge magic. The phone becomes a full PC and thin client when docked.
Features of Ubuntu:
- Intellectual design and features.
- Evolving personalized art on the welcome screen.
- Edge magic: Simple natural swiping gestures from the edges of the screen to make it easier to access your content and switch between apps. Every edge of the phone is used, letting you move faster between apps, settings and content.
- Global Search option for Apps, Files and also for Web contents
- Cleaner and most spacious screen. Controls appear only when user wants them reducing screen cluster
- Gesture and Voice command for easy access
- Both native and web or HTML5 apps.
- Developers will be able to create one app, with twi interfaces: a smartphone UI, and, when docked, a desktop UI.
- No Lock Screen so no unlocking needs to be done before using the phone.
