iOS 8.0 to include free FaceTime audio conference calling - Gadget Reviews

Many details have emerged from the announcement of iOS 8.0 and OS X 10.10 'Yosemite'. Although Apple unveiled many features, they could not cover all of them. One of the features they did not go over was the ability to have audio conference calls while using FaceTime in iOS 8.0.


The ability to have conference calls has been in a large amount of software for many years, such as Skype which recently made group calling available for free on Mac, PC and Xbox One. FaceTime, since its introduction in 2010, has been limited by only allowing video calls to be made between two participants. Further, when the audio call feature was added in 2013, it was still only for one on one conversations. Due to this limitation Apple has listened to feedback and added free audio conference calls that will work across both iOS and OS X.
Of course this is only one of the new additions to the iOS software. Many other features, such as HealthKit, a keyboard you can change, and refinements to iMessage has also been detailed at this year’s WWDC. UberGizmo reports that OS X 'Yosemite' is also getting enhancements to its iMessaging capabilities with the addition of screen sharing which will allow users to share each other’s screen using the Messages app.
