Pagerank according to me is not a blog quality determining factor. Pagerank in fact according to me has nothing to do with a blog’s quality or power. Pagerank is totally based (as far as I have researched and read on other blogs) only and only on one thing i.e. the number of blogs linking to your blog and the pagerank of those blogs. So in short the entire concept of Pagerank revolves in and around links, number of links, quality of links, authority of links, pagerank of links, etc.
So if you want to increase pagerank of your blog, you need to concentrate on your back links. Simply getting backlinks from millions of sites out there won’t work, you also need to concentrate on the quality of those links.

For those who didn’t understand the above formula, it means that pagerank is directly proportional to the number of backlinks you have. A site having 10,000 backlinks is expected to have a higher pagerank than a site having just 1000 backlinks.
So in short if you want to increase pagerank, concentrate on this principle and increase backlinks. There are certain things that need to be taken care of like – quality of backlinks, backlinks building speed and a few more. Your backlinks need to be good quality, you must build links at a human speed (slow). By human speed I mean to convey, build links at a natural speed and don’t use automated link building software or sites.

Number of OBL (Out Bound Links) from your blog
If your blog page links to 100 external sites, your pagerank will be divided in 100 parts. So a PR4 will be divided into 100 parts and each of the external site will get + PR 4/100. So at the end very less PR value remains for your own blog and your pagerank can decrease. So in order to increase pagerank you must immediately start building links. Try to build as many links as possible, but don’t neglect the quality aspect. Try getting links from authority sites in whichever way possible. Try getting links from educational sites (.edu sites) or government sites (.gov). Getting links from such sites is very difficult, but a single link from such sites can increase your page rank and even boost your search engine rankings. If you haven’t heard of a link wheel before, let me tell you that building a link wheel is one of the most effective ways to get high quality backlinks. Eventually all these sites get a ranking boost and your site page gets a major ranking boost.Example:
Site A links to Site B which in turn links to Site C. Site C links to Site D and so on. Each site links to the consecutive site and a common page (a page whose pagerank you want to increase). You get an immediate rankings boost, because the pagerank value of each site page is evenly distributed between the sites and eventually all the high PR pages link to your page. This proves to be an immediate link boost! Building link wheel is time consuming so try making it as effective as possible. Having a good site structure, inter-linking all internal pages helps in distributing the link juice properly and thus you can expect a higher pagerank. In order to increase pagerank, have a good navigation system at place. Link to all the important pages from your home page so that they get more link juice and there’s a PR increase. - Can get you a lot of free traffic, indirect backlinks, direct backlinks and also increase pagerank. Some one likes your post and links to it (indirect backlink). You share your post on a dofollow bookmarking site (direct backlink).
Try building natural (at least natural-looking) backlinks
The best way to build natural links is to ask your friends to link to your blog posts. Another way is to guest blog and request a link inside the body. Shocking, huh? Yeah, but your pagerank does not depend on your blog content! Even if you write 1000 words articles or if you copy a blog post from an other blog, your pagerank stands unaffected. How is that possible and how can I say that?Long time back I found a blog which copied all my blog posts. When I visited that blog, I found out that the blog had a PR4. So what I concluded was that you don’t need to have original content in your blog. Pagerank doesn’t depend on your content. Pagerank just depends on the links.
Does that mean you should stop writing and start copying? Of course no! A duplicate post can get a PR4, but still it won’t rank higher than the original post (in 99% cases). So write original articles only.
Number of indexed pages
Long time back I read an article about increasing pagerank. One of the tips was to write a lot of articles and have a lot of pages indexed in Google. I researched and found out that it isn’t true. The number of indexed pages has nothing to do with your pagerank!META tags
Another article I found out suggested that filling META details properly can increase your pagerank. But it’s not true. Filling META details properly can help you rank better in Google, get more traffic, but it cannot help increase your blog’s pagerank. May be when someone visitors your blog, likes your blog posts, links to you, you can get a backlink and see a PR increase, but that’s only a possibility! A visitor won’t link to your blog post always if he likes it!Domain age
If domain age was a factor, many domain traders would have been partying all day long! I don’t think domain age affects your pagerank in any way. I have several domains, older than a year, but all have PR-NA. One of my friend has a 10 year old domain with a PR-NA. So I don’t think, the domain age affects your pagerank in any way.
